Set in a richly imagined yet wholly fictional society, Common Ground is a short film about two boys from differing communities who forge an unlikely friendship in a world governed by tradition, division, and deeply rooted mistrust.

Their neighbouring societies have been at odds with each other for generations, separated by conflicting customs, beliefs, and ways of life. When one of the boys unearths an ancient artifact buried beneath their school, it sets off a chain of events that forces them both to question everything they’ve been taught. As they dig deeper, unsettling truths begin to surface—truths that challenge the very foundation of their world. In a place where division is doctrine, uncovering the past comes at a cost.

Common Ground is a meditation on inherited prejudice, the manipulation of history, and the quiet, rebellious force of human connection. At its core, this is a story of friendship, defiance, and the courage, to seek truth in a world built on inherited stigma.
